Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council are asking for the views of its residents over the Town Centre Neighbourhood Plan which has entered its final stages.

The plan seeks to kick-start the regeneration of Wolverton Town centre through seven policies which are designed to help deliver the redevelopment of the Agora site, support small, independent shops and businesses and conserve historic shopfronts in the town.

“We’re getting there, we want your comments on the plan for Wolverton Town Centre over the next twenty years”, says Sally McLellan, Town Clerk at the town council.

“It may have taken two years in what we were assured  was a ‘light touch’ planning system, but after lots of work by the local community, the Wolverton Neighbourhood Plan is now out to a final six weeks public consultation before being submitted to Milton Keynes Council and later a referendum.

“We urge anyone interested in the future of Wolverton to read the draft plan and comment on it.”

Residents and businesses and anyone else with an interest in Wolverton are encouraged to comment on the new plan which is on the Future Wolverton website, local libraries and Wolverton Town Hall.

Marie Osborne from the co-operative organisation Future Wolverton, who have been delivering the plan on behalf of the Town Council said: “The draft plan has taken into account the comments made by local people and statutory organisations during the previous consultations last year.

“We are confident it is now a more robust document which accurately reflects the wishes of the local community.”
