Wolverton Town game abandoned after mass brawl
A football game involving Wolverton Town FC was reportedly abandoned on Saturday (18/10) after a mass brawl involving both sets of players.
Wolverton were trailing 5-2 to Aston Clinton in the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two when an incident involving the away side’s central midfielder ended in punches being thrown by players from both teams.
This ended with the game being abandoned.
Elsewhere in Division Two, Willen gained a vital point in a 2-2 draw at Tring Corinthians, but Old Bradwell United were frustrated as nine man Pitstone & Ivinghoe held on to a 1-1 stalemate.
New Bradwell St Peter continued their recent good form by beating The 61 FC by three goals to one and in Division One, Stony Stratford Town lost again, this time 4-2 at FA Broxbourne Borough.
In the United Counties League Division One, Olney were defeated, despite a long winning run, as Thrapston Town ran out 2-1 winners.
