A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with carrying out robberies at Co-op supermarkets in Northampton and Daventry.

The youth, of no fixed abode, first appeared before Wellingborough Youth Court earlier this month and is due before the same court for a further hearing on Monday, February 29.

It is alleged he committed a robbery and threatened a person with a blade on February 5, 2016 at the Co-op store in Birchfield Road East, Northampton.

He is also charged with committing a robbery and threatening a person with a blade on January 13, 2016 at the Co-op, Edinburgh Square, Daventry.

The teenager also faces charges of racially aggravated harassment and use of threatening behaviour to cause harassment, in Northampton on February 8 2016.

The 15-year-old has currently been remanded to a secure training centre until the further hearing.
