A man has been sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment on Friday (19/2) for sexual assault in Milton Keynes, following a police investigation.

Harish Vaja, aged 59, of Dyers Mews, Milton Keynes, was sentenced at Amersham Crown Court to 20 months’ imprisonment. He pleaded guilty and was convicted of one count of sexual assault.

He was also ordered to sign on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years and given a restraining order to prevent him contacting the victim.

The assault took place in the victim’s home where she was touched inappropriately over her clothing.

Vaja was arrested on 23 May 2015 and was subsequently charged with the offences on 11 September 2015.

Designated Investigator Darryl Morvan based at Milton Keynes police station said: “This was a predatory attack on a vulnerable woman in her own home.

“The victim showed tremendous courage and bravery giving evidence which has lead to this conviction.”
