Northampton Town currently have a staggering 14 point lead at the top of League Two, and with just 10 matches to go who has been their best player so far this season?

It looks increasingly likely that skipper Marc Richards will be lifting the fourth tier trophy at the end of the campaign, barring a dramatic collapse from Chris Wilder’s men with Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle far behind.

Richards has struck 18 times in 35 appearances for the Cobblers in their march to the top of the table, but Adam Smith has made some fine saves to keep them in games, Rod McDonald has been an unlikely hero at the back and John-Joe O’Toole has turned his Sixfields career around making it hard to choose a standout player.
