Council urges caution after spate of bogus calls
NORTHAMPTONSHIRE County Council have sent out a reminder to residents not to disclose their personal details to unknown callers.
The warning has been issues after a large number of our counties residents were reported receiving phone calls claiming to be from the council, before asking for the personal details of the recipient.
If anyone has or receives a suspicious call or any call relating to the disclosure of personal details, they are urged to report it to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040.
Elsewhere the council are calling for entries for this year’s Northamptonshire Youth Ambition Awards, with six awards on offer across the five categories; an extra award has been added to especially recognise a young person who did not win in their category.
The awards, which are organised by the County Council each year, aim to recognise the achievements of young people aged 11 and over who otherwise may have been overlooked for recognition.
The deadline for nominations for this year is Tuesday, 7 June, before the awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday, 29 June at the Wicksteed Park Pavilion.
The six awards on the night will consist of: Young Apprentice of the Year Award – sponsored by CDS, Young Role Model of the Year Award – sponsored by Centurion Training Solutions Ltd, Project or Campaign of the Year Award – sponsored by Canon, The Taking Charge of Your Life Award – sponsored by Prospects Services, The Arts Award – sponsored by RJDM Studios and The Special Recognition Award – sponsored by Galliford Try.
