MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has rejected the chance to replace Steve Evans as boss of Leeds United, according to reports.

Sky Sports News claims the 35-year-old held talks with owner Massimo Cellino, but has decided to remain at stadiummk next season.

Robinson has been in charge of the Dons since 2010 and helped them to promotion to the Championship in 2014/15, where they remained for just one season.

Sky Sports suggests the Elland Road club will now turn their attentions to Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke as they look to replace Evans who is expected to be sacked soon.

A statement from Evans revealed his frustration at the lack of clarification from Leeds over what would be happening.

He said: “I’m hurting at not knowing my future but I respect the right of the club to make big decisions at a time and manner that suits.”

There are some rumours that Robinson rejected the deal because he wanted assurances over his long-term future at the club, while money is also suggested to have been an issue.

Robinson will now look to strengthen his Dons squad as they hope to return to the Championship at the first time of asking after their disappointing relegation this campaign.
