Shrewsbury Town up first for MK Dons in League One
MK Dons will begin the 2016/17 League One season by facing Shrewsbury Town away on August 6th.
The Dons’ return to the third tier of English football sees them open up against a team that finished 20th in the third tier last season. After this opener, they will then follow up their opening match with a game against Millwall the following week in their first home game of the new campaign.
For most neutrals, the big attention is on MK Dons’ clashes with AFC Wimbledon, as the two teams shall face one another in league football for the first time. The first of the two clashes will take place on Saturday, December 10 at stadiummk with the return fixture at Kingsmeadow taking place on Tuesday, March 14.
Attention will also be drawn to the matches against League Two champions Northampton Town with a trip to Sixfields on September 3, and the Milton Keynes clash on January 21, while Peterborough will make the visit on August 27, before the opposing fixture on January 28.
On Boxing Day, MK Dons will take on Charlton Athletic at home, and will then follow it up with games against Swindon Town at stadiummk on New Year’s Eve, and Chesterfield on January 2nd.
The Dons’ final match of the League One season will take place against at Walsall on April 30th 2017, with the last home clash coming against Sheffield United the week before.
