MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has claimed he will not sell defender Kyle McFadzean to a ‘competitor’ such as Sheffield United.

The 27-year-old is believed to have handed in a transfer request at stadiummk in a bid to force through a move back to his hometown club.

But Robinson says that if somebody wants to sign the wantaway centre-back a club will have to pay the price the Dons are demanding, and with the Blades also in League One next season it seems chances of a transfer there are diminishing.

He told the Sheffield Star: “No-one is for sale to a competitor. If they don’t want to turn up and get fined, then fine.

“It’s not got to that with Kyle yet. But if someone doesn’t want to be here, then their agent needs to do some work, and there needs to be a price on his head to allow this team to improve.

“If the players don’t want to be here, the price has to be right.”

Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Birmingham City have all been linked with a move for McFadzean.

They all play in the Championship so the Milton Keynes club may be more receptive to bids from either of those sides, but the defender may have set his sights on a transfer to his boyhood team.
