UKIP: Well done Milton Keynes, we have our country back!
The UKIP chairman for Buckinghamshire and 2015 Milton Keynes South candidate has praised Milton Keynes for voting to leave in the EU referendum.
The United Kingdom sent shockwaves around the globe on Friday morning when it was announced the country had chosen to depart the European Union.
And Vince Peddle, who stood as a general election candidate in Milton Keynes, praised the city for doing its bit in helping get ‘our country back’.
He said: “We will soon be free from the failed political project that is the EU, that undemocratic and self serving group of unelected commissioners.
“We have worked hard to reach this day, June 24th our Independence Day. Let’s enjoy it in the knowledge that we will once again be able to make our own laws, trade freely with the rest of the world and Europe, without the threat of TTIP, and spend our taxes where we want to.
“Rest assured there will be a continuation of Project Fear for a while, but let’s enjoy the moment and look forward to a stronger and more prosperous future for Britain.
“UKIP has a responsibility now to campaign for Brexit terms which will suit Britain. We must continue to pressure the government to invoke article 50 and provide us with a successful exit from the EU.
“A big thanks must go to Nigel Farage and all in UKIP, without whom there would not have been an Independence Day.
“Thanks also to those who so generously gave their support to the Leave EU, Grassroots Out & Vote Leave organisations.
“We have our country back!”
