MK Dons defender Lee Hodson has finalised a transfer for an undisclosed fee to Scottish giants Rangers.

The 24-year-old featured 51 times for the Dons since joining from Watford in 2013, but lost his place to Jordan Spence and George Baldock.

Spence also left the club this summer, but Karl Robinson moved to bring in Barnsley right-back George Williams back to Milton Keynes.

Hodson passed a medical with the Gers today before signing on the dotted line to seal the switch.

He has agreed a three-year-contract and becomes Mark Warburton’s seventh summer signing as the manager looks to strengthen for their return to the Scottish Premiership.

Neither club has confirmed the fee Rangers have paid, it has instead been described as ‘undisclosed’.

Hodson spent the second half of last season at Kilmarnock after Baldock was recalled from a loan spell at League Two side Oxford United.

The defender was named as part of the Northern Ireland squad which reached the round of 16 at EURO 2016. They were eventually knocked out by Wales with Hodson not featuring at all during the tournament.

At the Dons, Robinson has made two other signings along with Williams bringing in Millwall midfielder Ed Upson and Walsall centre back Paul Downing. Nicky Maynard could also be set for a return despite initially rejecting a new contract.
