Northampton sign midfielder Harry Beautyman from Peterborough
Northampton Town have signed midfielder Harry Beautyman from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.
The player has signed a 2 year contract at Sixfields. He is the second player this year to move from London Road to Sixfields, following defender Gabriel Zakuani.
Speaking to the official Northampton Town website, manager Rob Page declared his happiness to get his man.
He said, “Harry is a very good addition for us. He is a lively character and a player who has a decent amount of experience in League One. He is also a good age, who will get better and better, and I think we are signing him at a good time.
“He is a box to box midfielder who creates things, makes things happen and can score a goal or two so he will add to our attacking options. He attracted a fair amount of interest over the summer and we are pleased we have been able to bring him to the club.”
Beautyman joined Peterborough from non-league side Welling in 2014, initially on loan before making his move permanent. He played 44 times for the Posh, and scored 5 times.
Peterborough manager Grant McCann has said he has sold the player as he felt he couldn’t give him first team appearances, and chose to wish him well.
Speaking to the club website, he said, “It is a good move for Harry because it is fairly local so he shouldn’t have to move. I spoke to him at the back end of last season and explained that I didn’t think I could give him the first team football that he wanted.
“Harry has played in a couple of games for us during pre-season and we wish him well at Northampton.”
