Police appeal after teenager raped on footpath in Milton Keynes
Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old teenager was raped on a Milton Keynes footpath earlier this week.
The appeal relates to an incident that happened between approximately 11.30pm on Monday (18/7) and 3.15am on Tuesday (19/7) on the footpath behind Pure Gym in Bleak Hall.
It is thought the victim encountered the offender shortly before the incident, when he engaged her in conversation as she walked across the Fishermead overbridge leading to Pencarrow Place.
The offender is described as a white man, about 20-years-old, 5ft, slim, with short brown shaved hair, a short beard and crooked front teeth. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark blue Adidas jumper and dark Adidas tracksuit bottoms with white stripes on the lower legs. He was also riding a grey and white bicycle and carrying a black rucksack.
DI Jason Simpson from Force CID at Milton Keynes police station confirmed that the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
He also added, “A thorough investigation into this incident is underway. I would like to speak to anybody who saw or heard anything out of the ordinary in the Fishermead to Bleak Hall areas of Milton Keynes on Monday night to the early hours of Tuesday morning, or anyone who saw a young woman with a man who was riding a bike in the area around the time of the offence.
“Officers have been conducting enquiries and there are reassurance patrols in the area. If anyone has any information, please speak to neighbourhood officers in the area or call police via the 24-hour 101 number.”
People that may have information about the incident please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
