Northampton Town’s Checkatrade Trophy draw will see them face Peterborough United, Cambridge United and the Southampton academy side.

The draw was finalised earlier this week, with Northampton having previously been drawn against Peterborough and Cambridge in the first stage of the draw last week. In the new version of the tournament’s format, the Southampton side will play all of their matches away from home.

Northampton will start off their Checkatrade Trophy campaign at home to Cambridge in the week beginning August 28th. The second game is the Nene Valley Derby against Peterborough, which takes place at the ABAX Stadium in the week beginning October 2nd. The final match is against Southampton’s academy side, and is scheduled for the week beginning November 6th.

Last season, the Cobblers were in a group with the tournament’s eventual winners Coventry City, Wycombe Wanders and the West Ham academy side, but were unable to progress out from their group.
