MK Dons were beaten 1-0 by Blackpool in their opening away match of the new League One season.

The Tangerines’ winner came early on from Sean Longstaff, with the midfielder on loan from Newcastle turning in Viv Solomon-Otabor’s cross after the visitors failed to clear a corner.

The Dons had chances in the consequent 85 minutes, with Ed Upson denied by Ryan Allsop, Ethan Ebanks-Landell heading wide, and late chances seeing Allsop deny Kieran Agard & Scott Wootton.

But the home side had their own chances throughout the 90 minutes to secure victory by a bigger margin in their first home match of the season. A late intervention from Dean Lewington denied Mark Cullen shooting room following a quick break, while Solomon-Otabor firing wide, and Lee Nicholls making stops to deny efforts from Jimmy Ryan and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

It was ultimately Blackpool who took the spoils, and the Dons duly sunk to a second single goal defeat out of the first two games at the start of the new season.
