Luton pick up point after goalless draw with Lincoln
Luton Town scraped their way to a point after a 0-0 draw with Football League newboys Lincoln City at Sincil Bank.
Despite a free-scoring start that saw the two teams score 21 goals between them in the opening month of League Two fixtures, neither could break the deadlock and the points were shared.
The Hatters’ best opportunities came in the first half, with Danny Hylton seeing a shot denied by Paul Farman, and further efforts from Hylton and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu went wide, although the visitors suffered a setback when striker James Collins was taken off injured.
Lincoln were the likelier to score late on, but saw Marek Stech deny their two best chances, which fell to Nathan Arnold and Luke Waterfall.
The result means that after five games of the new League Two season, the Hatters find themselves in 6th position in the table ahead of home matches against early strugglers Swindon Town and Port Vale.
