Foley makes full debut for Cobblers against Bristol Rovers
Northampton Town make 3 changes to their team from last weekend’s loss at Rotherham ahead of their meeting with Bristol Rovers.
The trio of alterations from the defeat in South Yorkshire see Sam Foley called up for his first start in a league match since joining the club, as well as starts for Marc Richards and Raheem Hanley.
Regan Poole and Daniel Powell are dropped to the substitutes bench, while George Smith misses out on the team altogether.
Three of the back four keep their places from Tuesday, with starts for centre-backs Ash Taylor and Aaron Pierre, and full-back Brendan Moloney. The latter recovers to start after leaving the pitch injured during the game in Cambridgeshire. After making his debut in that clash, Lewis McGugan starts on the bench.
Rovers have been a regular bogey team in recent seasons for the Cobblers, with Northampton managing one win in their past six meetings in both Leagues One and Two. The side from the South West won both meetings last season, with a 5-0 thrashing at the Memorial Stadium leading to Rob Page’s dismissal.
Northampton starting 11: Ingram, Moloney, Taylor, Pierre, Buchanan, Foley, Grimes, Bowditch, Richards, Hanley, Revell
Subs bench: Cornell, Poole, McWilliams, Hoskins, McGugan, Waters, Powell
