MK Dons have confirmed midfielder Aaron Tshibola has had his loan cut short and has returned to Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old midfielder had been on a season long loan from the Championship side, but in a statement, the Dons confirmed that the club have cut his loan short.

The club Tweeted, “Robbie Neilson confirmed in his press conference this morning that Aaron Tshibola has returned to @AVFCOfficial.

“The Club would like to wish Aaron all the best for the future.”

Tshibola had joined the League One club on a season long loan from Aston Villa and made his debut on the opening day of the season.

He played 16 times in all competitions, and scored once, which came against the Brighton U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy, but his performances were criticised by fans on social media.

His last appearance at stadium:mk saw him sent off inside the opening 5 minutes of a defeat by Bradford City. Tshibola’s only other appearance after that came in a 2-0 defeat by Bristol Rovers.
