Luton Town secured progress in the Checkatrade Trophy by beating the West Ham U21s 4-0 at Kenilworth Road.

A much changed line-up from the one who beat Gateshead in the FA Cup at the weekend secured progress in the competition with a comfortable win.

Strikes from Lawson D’Ath, Aaron Jarvis, Kavan Cotter and Jordan Cook were those registered in the Hatters’ victory.

D’Ath opened the scoring just before the half hour with a header from a cross. He was then joined on the scoresheet by Jarvis during the second half, after his half volley beat the keeper.

Cotter and Cook then added strikes late on in the match to wrap up progress for Luton, as they moved into the competition’s third round.

The result continues Luton’s progress in a competition that saw them reach the semi-finals last season. It also means Luton have scored 9 goals in two games ahead of Saturday’s top of the table clash in League Two with Notts County. Indeed
