Northampton Town have made their second and third new signings in a week, as Manchester City defender Shay Facey and Southend winger Jack Bridge have joined the club.
The duo were confirmed on Friday, with England U20 defender Facey making his debut in Northampton’s win over Southend earlier today (06/01). Meanwhile, Bridge was ruled ineligible to play against his former club.
Both players have arrived for undisclosed fees. The duo follow the earlier signing of Portuguese winger Hildeberto Pereira, who arrived on a season long loan from Legia Warsaw.
Facey was the first to be confirmed after his arrival from Manchester City, after putting pen to paper on an 18 month contract with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side. The defender had previously spent a season on loan with the Premier League side’s MLS sister club New York City FC, along with further stints with Rotherham United and Dutch side Heerenveen.
22-year-old Bridge joined after coming through the Southend academy and making 11 first team appearances, while the one-time Bournemouth trialist had also previously spent time on loan with non-league side Chelmsford City.
