IN EXCESS Of 50 lambs and ewes have been stolen from a field between the A5 and Litchborough near Towcester.
The theft occurred sometime between Wednesday, 30 March and 9am on Saturday, 2 April when the theft was exposed.
An entrance to the field believed to have been used by the offender/s is on Northampton Road, just before a sharp bend, where it is believed a vehicle reversed off the road, into the gateway and loaded the sheep.
Witnesses, anyone with information or those who may have noticed a large quantity of sheep being transported or offered for sale recently, are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Records of theft of this nature and in general have been in decline recently within Northamptonshire, after recent figures stated there were 322 reported incidents of theft, comparing to 377 the month before and 379 the month previous to that.
