A miserable afternoon for Luton Town saw the ten man Hatters beaten 3-0 at home by Swindon Town.

The Hatters’ first home defeat in League Two in the new season saw Nathan Jones’ side reduced to ten men just after the half-hour. Skipper Scott Cuthbert conceded a penalty after pulling Keshi Anderson’s shirt, and was dismissed against his former club.

Luke Norris put the penalty beyond Marek Stech to put the visitors in front. Until that point, the game had been more even, but in the second-half, the visitors were able to make the result decisive with 2 goals in 11 minutes.

Chris Hussey doubled the visitors’ lead with a curling drive, before Paul Mullin converted a cut-back from a cross to increase Swindon’s margin of victory.

The result sees Swindon leapfrog Luton in the early League Two table. The Hatters will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday, when they welcome early strugglers Port Vale to Kenilworth Road.
