Ousseynou Cisse was the matchwinner as MK Dons beat QPR 1-0 at Loftus Road to reach the FA Cup 4th Round.

Cisse scored the winning goal after an hour of play in West London, with his strike being his first since moving to England. The midfielder intercepted a loose ball before curling a strike beyond Alex Smithies to decide the contest.

The result sees the Dons echo a previous upset at QPR, having knocked the West Londoners out of the competition in the 4th Round in 2013.

In the first half, the Dons’ best chances had seen Robbie Muirhead hit the post and Cisse fire over the top, while QPR midfielder Ilias Chair firing wide late in the half.

Until the goal, QPR had applied pressure, with Matt Smith being denied by Lee Nicholls in the pick of the chances. The keeper also making a stop to keep out Josh Scowen, with Joe Walsh just squeezing the ball wide under pressure from an opponent and Jack Robinson blazing over.

QPR had a goal disallowed for offside while Smith and Muirhead against went close at either end. But despite 7 minutes of added time, the Dons held out to achieve a Cup upset over their Championship opposition as they booked their place in Round 4.
