Police have confirmed a man has been arrested and a murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman from Milton Keynes.
The news is in connection with an incident that happened around 6:30am on Tuesday May 29th.
Officers received a report that a woman was injured inside a property in Brent, Tinkers Bridge. She was found to have sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital.
The victim was 39-year-old Joanne Bishop of Tinkers Bridge, who died in hospital on Saturday (02/06). Her next of kin are aware.
Senior investigating officer DI Stuart Blaik said, “A team of detectives is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
“A specially trained family liaison officer is supporting Joanne’s next of kin and our thoughts remain with her relatives at this incredibly difficult time.”
Police have confirmed a 51-year-old man was arrested on the morning of May 29th, and subsequently charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.
He appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (30/05) and was remanded to appear at Oxford Crown Court on June 25th.
