MK Dons have confirmed the double signing of midfielder Ryan Harley and striker Robbie Simpson from Exeter City.
Harley, 33, has signed a one year contract with the club, while Simpson, also 33, has signed a short-term deal at the club.
The two players are the sixth and seventh arrivals at MK Dons ahead of the new season. They are also the latest to move from Devon to Buckinghamshire, where they are reunited with former manager Paul Tisdale.
This is Harley’s second spell at MK Dons, having previously played for the Dons during a loan spell from Brighton in the 2012-13 season. He played 11 times in all competitions, and scored one goal, which came in an FA Cup win at QPR.
Harley first joined Exeter in 2007. He left in 2011 to join Swansea but failed to make an appearance before moving on to join Brighton. Harley then joined Swindon before returning to Exeter on loan, and then on a permanent basis.
He told iFollow MK Dons, “I’m really pleased to be here. This is obviously a big football club and I’m really looking forward to getting started.
“I’ve known the management team for a long time. I’m looking forward to playing for them again and linking up with a few of my friends.”
Simpson joins after two years at Exeter, who he left on a free transfer. In his career, he has also featured for Cambridge City, Cambridge United, Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Brentford, Oldham Athletic and Leyton Orient. The striker has made over 500 professional appearances in all competitions.
The striker said, “This is a great club that unfortunately hasn’t had the best of times in recent years. I’m really looking forward to playing a part in getting the Club back on the right tracks and where it belongs.
“I feel I can definitely bring some experience to the side. Having met the squad, we have some really talented players and hopefully my experience can help to bring the best out of them.”
