Police have confirmed a second arrest has been made in connection with the investigation of a murder in Milton Keynes as they identified the victim.

The arrest of a 17-year-old boy was confirmed earlier today (13/08) by police. He was arrested last night on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

The victim has been formally identified by police as 29-year-old Ronnie Wrighting. Formal identification took place earlier today.

Senior investigating officer DCI Ailsa Kent said, “Detectives are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries following the death of Ronnie Wrighting, which is still being treated as a murder investigation.

“Ronnie’s family is being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers at this extremely difficult time for them.

A 14-year-old boy was previously arrested by police on Sunday. Earlier today, he was released on police bail until September 7th.

The investigation was launched in relation to an incident at 10.20pm on Saturday (11/08). An altercation took place between a group of males in Duparc Close, Browns Wood, and during the incident, the victim sustained injuries and two males then left the scene on a moped.

Police subsequently received a report from the ambulance service shortly before 11pm. The victim had left the scene in a taxi, was being treated for his injuries in Gibbwin, Great Linford. He was taken to hospital where he subsequently died yesterday.

A Post-Mortem examination took place yesterday, and established the cause of death was from a single stab wound to the abdomen.
