Luton Town confirm three deadline day arrivals
Luton Town have confirmed the signing of three players on transfer deadline day, as they signed Alex Baptiste, Jason Cummings and Aaron Connolly.
The three arrivals ensure the League One leaders end the window with five new signings, having previously signed midfielders George Thorne and George Moncur.
33-year-old defender Baptiste, who marked his birthday on deadline day itself, has signed a loan deal from QPR.
The defender has previously represented Mansfield, Burton Albion, Blackpool, Bolton, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, and Preston
23-year-old striker Cummings signs on loan from Nottingham Forest, having previously spent the first half of the current season on loan with the Hatters’ fellow League One side Peterborough United.
The striker had previously scored for Peterborough when they beat Luton 3-1 at London Road earlier in the current season.
The Hatters’ other new arrival also scored against Luton, as the club confirmed the signing of young Irish striker Connolly.
The 19-year-old scored against Luton at Kenilworth Road in the Checkatrade Trophy, and also scored a hat-trick against MK Dons in the same competition. He joins fresh after signing a new contract with the Premier League side from the South Coast.
As well as the three arrivals, Luton also had three players depart on deadline day.
Aaron Jarvis joined Scottish side Falkirk, Lloyd Jones has moved to Plymouth Argyle, and youngster Jack Senior joined Harrogate Town.
