Deputy Mayor joins PEP:mk for 10-year anniversary celebrations
The Milton Keynes Deputy Mayor Cllr Crooks has joined Headteachers and Milton Keynes community leaders to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of PEP:mk.
Since 2009, PEP:mk has been providing high quality training to school staff including NQTs, Teachers, and Leaders to help improve teaching in the area. PEP:mk currently has 50 schools in its partnership and many more that attend their training on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Over the past 10 years, PEP:mk has run over 800 sessions and continues to grow, supporting even more schools.
The Deputy Mayor attended PEP:mk’s annual Partnership Event along with Headteachers and leaders from primary schools who benefit from the training they provide.
The event was held at Abbey Hill Golf Club and included a guest speaker, Helen Dudley-Smith, an Independent Education Consultant who discussed ways to retain staff and help teachers manage workloads. This was followed by a fun speed-dating style product showcase from Innovate My School and a delicious traditional afternoon tea for headteachers and leaders to network and celebrate.
To commemorate the 10-year anniversary, the Deputy Mayor cut a cake and also said a few words to the attendees.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Crooks said, “I am delighted to have been invited to celebrate the success of PEP:mk. They do such an important job to enhance the quality of teaching our children receive. It’s fantastic to hear the brilliant feedback from those who have benefited from the training and I wish the team every success in the future.”
Victoria Lacy-Wills, Partnership Manager at PEP:mk added, “We are delighted with the turnout from schools who were able to join us and celebrate a successful 10-years of delivering high quality training for school staff. We’d like to thank Deputy Mayor, Cllr Crooks for taking the time to find out more about how we are helping to develop school staff and hope we have inspired more schools to join our partnership.”
PEP:mk is based at St Paul’s Catholic School and provides high quality training for school staff. As well as accepting new members to their partnership, schools can also access training on a pay-as-you-go basis.
