MK Dons midfielder Ryan Harley was delighted to grab the opening goal as his side beat Yeovil.
The midfielder has had an injury-hit debut year at stadium mk, but struck the opener against the Glovers, and speaking after the game, voiced his delight to grab the game’s opening goal.
He said, “The first goal is always important in any game, and we’ve had a few where we’ve gone behind and its not quite worked for us. Today was important to get the goal, and they had a few spells but it felt comfortable enough.
“I’ve scored a few from that position in my time so I’m a little used to it, but it was a decent strike and it got us off to a good start.”
Harley was also in position when MK Dons grabbed their second, but instead deferred to Chuks Aneke as he struck the finish to end his fine solo effort.
He said, “He’s scored a few like that when he’s bundled through. He’s a good player who is strong as well. I was waiting for a pull back but in the end I just got out of his way. It was a good goal.”
Harley has struggled with injury this season, but was looking to play a key role in the remaining run of fixtures.
He said, “I think its only my 4th start and its not enough. I had a long term injury and a few niggles, but it is what it is and I look forward to the next 7 games.
“We are where we want to be but we’ve got to kick on. These next games are going to be so important.”
The result was enough for the Dons to move into third, but Harley said that the fluid situation in the league would continue and they just had to focus on themselves.
He said, “You can’t lie and say you don’t look at other results. We were just saying though that you can’t look at who everyone else is playing because you can lose or win in any game. But we had a good performance and its onto the next.”
