MK Dons have confirmed both their first pre-season friendly, and that they will not play any friendlies at home ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The Dons’ first confirmed friendly ahead of next season is to take place on July 19th away at Welwyn Garden City.

Welwyn finished in 14th position last season in the Southern League Division One Central, which is the 8th tier of English football.

Meanwhile, with stadium mk hosting three large scale concerts in the summer, the club have confirmed the time needed to prepare the pitch means they will not have a home friendly this summer.

The first show of those being hosted at the MK Dons’ stadium will see Take That perform at the outdoor venue on May 23rd, with MK Dons also confirming preparation is underway for their appearance.

As part of the preparations, the Dons have said that the pitch has been covered, while some seats have been removed to ease entry/exit.

Rod Stewart will play the venue on June 4th, before German band Rammstein perform a show at stadium mk on July 6th.

The 2019-20 season will begin on the weekend of August 2-5, with the fixture release date ahead of the new League One season taking place on June 20th.
