Northampton Town have confirmed two signings this week, recruiting Chris Lines and Joe Martin.
The duo make it three signings ahead of the new season by Keith Curle’s side, after previously signing attacking midfielder Matty Warburton.
Lines joins on a free transfer from Bristol Rovers and will move upon expiry of contract. The 33-year-old midfielder has signed a two year deal.
The move ends Lines’ second spell with Bristol Rovers, which is where he began his career before leaving to join Sheffield Wednesday in 2011.
He also played for MK Dons on loan and for Port Vale before rejoining his first club in 2015 – initially on loan before making a permanent switch.
Left-sided utility player Martin also signed after he left the Cobblers’ fellow League 2 side Stevenage.
Martin began his career as a youth prospect with Spurs, and his career has turned out for Blackpool, Gillingham, Millwall, Stevenage and Bristol Rovers. He has also gained promotion in squads for the Gills and Lions.
