Daniel Powell to leave Northampton and join Crewe
Northampton winger Daniel Powell is set to leave the club and join their fellow League 2 side Crewe Alexandra.
The 28-year-old has signed a two year deal with the option for an extra year with the Cheshire club, who have made him their second signing ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Northampton had offered Powell a contract extension when the club announced their retained list shortly after the end of the season last month, but the winger has instead opted to end his time with the club and join David Artell’s side.
He had joined Northampton in 2017 from MK Dons, after he was released by the club where he made his professional debut in 2008 following his graduation from the MK Dons Academy.
In all, Powell scored 8 goals in 73 appearances in all competitions for the Cobblers, including a goal in his final home game for Northampton against Yeovil Town near the end of the season.
