MK Dons have confirmed the signing of defender Regan Poole after his departure from Manchester United.

20-year-old Poole, who spent last season on loan with Newport County, has joined the Dons on a free transfer.

He becomes the 5th new signing at MK Dons ahead of the 2019-20 season, following the arrivals of Hiram Boateng, Brennan Dickenson, Joe Mason and Jordan Bowery.

Poole told iFollow MK Dons of his delight to move to the League One new boys.

He said, “As soon as I heard that the Club was interested in me, I was very excited and wanted to get the deal done.

“I spoke to the manager and he really interested me in the way he wants to work. I’ve played against the Club a few times and played here at the stadium and everything about the place just interested me. As soon as I knew they wanted me it was a no brainer.

“This is a new stage of my career and I can’t wait to get started. It’s time to settle down, play some football and help this Club be successful.”

Poole began his career with Newport before joining Manchester United in 2015. The defender spent time on loan with Northampton in the 2017-18 season and then spent the 2018-19 campaign back on loan with the Exiles, who he helped into the play-offs and during their run in the FA Cup.

The defender has also represented Wales at youth level, up to and including the Welsh U21 side.
