Northampton Town will face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in the Carabao Cup First Round.

The draw means a long trip to South Wales for the League 2 side, to face a team that will be playing in the Championship in the upcoming season.

The tie will be in the week beginning August 12th, subject to TV scheduling and other considerations, with the matches produced in a draw broadcast live on the Carabao Facebook and Twitter pages.

Swansea City finished 10th in last season’s Championship, in a season of consolidation after the Swans suffered relegation from the Premier League in the 2017-18 season.

The South Welsh club are now under the charge of former England U17 head coach Steve Cooper, after previous incumbent Graham Potter left at the end of the season to take over at Brighton.

The two sides last faced off in the 2007/08 season, when both clubs were in League One, with both sides winning the respective home meetings.
