MK Dons have been drawn to face fellow League One side Southend United in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup.
The match will take place at Roots Hall in Essex in the week beginning August 26th, in-between the Dons’ League One fixtures against Peterborough United and Accrington Stanley.
Southend booked their place in the Second Round with a 2-1 victory away at League Two outfit Stevenage. Victory was the Shrimpers’ first in all competitions in 2019/20, after they were beaten Coventry and Blackpool in their first two games.
MK Dons are scheduled to face the regular League One trip to Roots Hall on Boxing Day, with the reverse fixture in Milton Keynes happening first at stadium mk on September 21st.
The draw was made live on Sky TV after coverage of Leeds United’s victory over Salford City, and came minutes after the Dons confirmed their progression by beating AFC Wimbledon on penalties.
Full fixture details including specific dates and kick-off times are expected in full course.
