MK Dons have been drawn against Coventry City in the first knockout round in the Trophy.

The draw was made on Sky Sports in the week following the final round of fixtures in the group stages.

The Dons finished the tournament’s group stage as winners of a group including Wycombe, Stevenage and the Fulham U21 side. The Dons won their contests against Stevenage and the Fulham juniors, and other results had already guaranteed their status as group winners before a defeat to Wycombe.

Coventry progressed from their group as runners up to Walsall, pipping Forest Green Rovers and the Southampton junior side. The Sky Blues beat group winners Walsall on penalties, lost to Forest Green on penalties, and then defeated Southampton U21s in their final match.

MK Dons and Coventry have already met in league football this season, with the two sides playing out a 0-0 draw at stadium mk in late October. Ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, Mark Robins’ side sit 6th in the table.

Details of the fixture date will be announced in due course.
