New “tap to donate” points to assist the Milton Keynes Homeless Partnership have been installed across the city by MyMiltonKeynes.

The new mobile donation points enable shoppers, diners, employees and those staying in Milton Keynes over the festive period, to give a donation directly to the city’s homelessness charity, which makes a real difference to those that so desperately need it.

Milton Keynes Homelessness Partnership is a collaboration between public, private and voluntary organisations working together to end homelessness in Milton Keynes, by delivering affordable housing and support needed to provide homes for good.

Partners include multiple agencies, providing free support for those struggling with issues from mental health to money management.

Donation points are currently located at Jury’s Inn and Intu Milton Keynes with more units on their way to locations across the city centre.

Sarah Crowhurst of Milton Keynes Homelessness Partnership explains her charity’s gratitude to get the campaign established.

She said, “We are so grateful for the support of MyMiltonKeynes in funding this fantastic alternative giving campaign, a great way to enable people to help those that are genuinely homeless this Christmas, and support our long term ambitions to find a solution to the homelessness crisis in Milton Keynes.

“From emergency shelter to temporary housing, we work with Milton Keynes Council and homelessness charities, aiming for ‘no first night out’.

“If you spot one of these touchpoints whilst enjoying the festivities in Central Milton Keynes this Christmas, why not stop and see how simple it is to make a real difference to homelessness in our city?”
