The Milton Keynes University Hospital has confirmed it will be further restricting visitor numbers to control the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, the hospital announced that it will no longer be allowing visitors except for special circumstances.

The hospital has released a list of what circumstances visitors are allowed to attend, with maternity, paediatrics and end of life patients the listed exceptions. The exceptions read:

  • Maternity – one birth partner only. Strictly no children.
  • Paediatrics – one parent/guardian only. Strictly no siblings.
  • Patients at the end of life – in the upsetting and difficult circumstances where patients may be at the end of their life, the decision for visiting will be down to the nurse in charge.

MK University Hospital have also advised all visitors should wash their hands thoroughly (for 20 seconds at least) or use the alcohol gel provided on both arriving to any ward or department and on leaving.
