Northampton Town have signed midfielder Jack Sowerby from Fleetwood Town.

Sowerby makes the move from the Cobblers’ fellow League One side for an undisclosed fee, and has signed a 2 year deal with an option for a third.

The 25-year-old has made over 100 appearances in professional football at a League One or League Two level, mostly for Fleetwood, though he also appeared for Carlisle on loan in 2018-19.

His new manager Keith Curle told the club’s website, “Jack is a player who has been on our radar for some time.

“He is a dynamic, attacking midfield player who likes to get forward and has an eye for goal.

“Jack has an excellent attitude, a good work ethic, he is a good age with a good range of experience and he has that hunger and desire to kick on. He is someone we think will fit in well here.

“He has a good understanding of the role he plays in the team, he takes up threatening positions and I think he is someone who will add to our group.”
