MK Dons were beaten 2-0 by Crewe Alexandra as they continued their wait for an away win.
The Dons have not won an away game since beating Blackpool in mid-September, as goals from Mikael Mandron and Oli Finney in the first half saw newly promoted Crewe take the points.
MK Dons are yet to win a match in League One so far in the 2020-21 season, with the team picking up one draw from the opening 3 games.
A reshuffled Dons side fell behind after 13 minutes. Ryan Wintle and Perry Ng combined for Crewe on the flank, and Mandron’s header from the following cross went into the back of the net.
Crewe continued to look more positive after that and they went 2-0 up after 20 minutes, as Finney was given space to volley past Lee Nicholls.
The Dons’ didn’t really recover from their poor opening to the game in the first half, with some errant Crewe passing causing trouble.
Joe Mason saw a shot denied by Will Jaaskelainen a few minutes after a half-time but despite having more possession, the Dons could’ve fallen even further behind when Nicholls denied Finney.
Charlie Kirk, Harry Pickering and Mandron were all close late on to making things even worse for MK Dons, but ultimately Crewe had the points and the Dons’ returned south on the back of a reverse.
