MK Dons have been given a home tie against the Norwich City U21s in the second round of the EFL Trophy.
The tie is provisionally scheduled to take place in the week beginning December 7, with a full date and kick-off time to be confirmed in due course.
In the Dons’ case, this places the tie between a trip to Accrington Stanley on December 5th and a home clash against Burton Albion one week later.
Norwich’s junior team gave booked their place in the knockout round as runners-up in Group F after wins over Plymouth Argyle and Newport County, although they were beaten by Cheltenham Town in their final match to finish runners up.
MK Dons booked their own place by winning Group B of the tournament’s southern section after victories against Northampton and Stevenage, although a home defeat by the Southampton juniors meant they didn’t complete a clean sweep.
The Dons reached the tournament’s third round last season, winning their group and beating Coventry in the first knockout round before being knocked out by Newport County in Round 3.
