Luton Town have confirmed that they have won their appeal against a red card shown to Tom Lockyer at Brentford in midweek.

The 26-year-old defender was sent off following an off-the-ball incident with Brentford striker Ivan Toney in injury time at the end of the game between the two sides in London on Wednesday (20/01). Toney was shown a second yellow card for his own role in the incident.

Luton however have now confirmed that their appeal to the FA against the Welsh international’s dismissal was successful, with a a regulatory commission confirming that the defender will not serve a suspension for the offence.

As a result, Lockyer is now available for Luton’s FA Cup tie against Chelsea this weekend, having previously been suspended for the Hatters’ big trip to Stamford Bridge in the tournament’s 4th Round.

The 26-year-old defender has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Nathan Jones’ side since moving from Charlton Athletic last summer.
