Luton Town’s meeting with Rotherham United that was due to take place this week has been postponed after a Rotherham covid outbreak.

The fixture is one of two Rotherham games to be postponed, after their game against Brentford on Saturday (06/03) was also called off.

A new date for the fixture at Kenilworth Road has yet to be announced, with the two clubs confirming it will be announced in due course.

This is the second postponement for the fixture, which was originally due to played in late January but was rearranged after Luton reached the FA Cup Fourth Round.

Rotherham announced that they have closed the club’s training ground and that players and staff affected will be required to self-isolate in line with government and EFL guidance.

In a statement on the club’s website, Luton Town said, “We would like to inform supporters that next Tuesday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Rotherham United has been postponed after a number of the Yorkshire club’s players tested positive for Covid-19.

“The rearranged date for the Kenilworth Road fixture, originally scheduled for FA Cup fourth round weekend in January, will be announced in due course.

“We would like to wish the Rotherham players who have contracted the virus a full and speedy recovery.”
