Hull City have signed midfielder George Moncur, who was available after being released by Luton Town.

The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a two year contract with last season’s League One champions, with an option for a third year.

He is the second player to be involved in a transfer between East Yorkshire and Bedfordshire in the summer transfer window, after defender Reece Burke moved from Hull to Luton last week.

Moncur had joined Luton in 2019, making a move in the January window from Barnsley. He would make 58 appearances in all competitions over his 2 1/2 year stint at Kenilworth Road, scoring 11 times in all.

Hull City manager Grant McCann told the official club website he was delighted to get the transfer done.

He said, “We’re delighted to have brought George to the Club. There was a lot of competition for his signature and I worked with him for a brief period at Peterborough.

“George is a bubbly character and his nature and attitude will fit into our group, and he will complement the attacking players in our team.”
