Luton to travel to Stevenage in Carabao Cup First Round
Luton Town have been drawn to play Stevenage away from home in the First Round of the Carabao Cup.
The tie will take place in the week beginning August 9th 2021, in-between Luton’s first two matches of the new Championship season. Specific dates will be confirmed in due course.
Luton last played Stevenage in League Two in the 2017/18 season, which was the last of four seasons in a row when the two teams were in the same division. The Hatters’ last visit to Hertfordshire was a 1-1 draw in February 2018, although they put seven past Stevenage in the reverse fixture the previous October.
Stevenage are managed by former MK Dons and Northampton striker Alex Revell, and finished 14th in League Two during the 2020/21 season. Former Luton player Scott Cuthbert was captain last season, with the player being on their retained list at the end of last season.
Last season, Luton made it to the Third Round of the Carabao Cup. They won ties against then-fellow Championship teams Norwich City and Reading, before defeat by Premier League side Manchester United.
