A pre-season friendly game between Brackley Town and Northampton Town has been called off after a covid case in the Brackley Town squad.
The match at St. James’ Park on July 27th will no longer take place following confirmation of the case in the Saints’ squad, which was confirmed by Brackley Town on social media yesterday (19/07).
The match is the second Brackley game to be postponed following the case being found, after a game planned today (20/07) against Kettering Town has also been called off.
Brackley are unable to field players due to the self-isolation requirements, as other members of the squad now have to isolate until an unspecified date after the game.
In a brief statement, Northampton said, “Northampton Town’s pre-season game at Brackley Town on Tuesday July 27th has been postponed due to a Covid case in the Brackley Town squad.
“This has led to a requirement for other members of the Brackley squad to self isolate beyond the date of the game.
“We would like to wish Brackley Town well for the season ahead and the player concerned a speedy recovery.”
