Northampton Town have confirm the signing of striker Kion Etete from Premier League side Spurs on a season long loan.
The 19-year-old has signed at the Cobblers for a loan spell, and in turn becomes Northampton’s 12th new signing ahead of the new season, which starts on Saturday.
Etete began his career with Notts County, making his professional debut in an EFL Trophy tie at age 16 in October 2018.
He moved to Spurs in 2019 after impressing on a trial with the Premier League giants, having previously made 6 appearances in all competitions for Notts County before moving to London.
Northampton boss Jon Brady told the club’s official website that he was a player they have watched intently and would offer something different for the new season.
He said, “Kion is a player we have tracked closely and watched a number of times.
“We think he will be a different type of threat for us and can work well with the other strikers at the club.
“He is good with his back to goal, his link up play is very effective and he provides a goal threat himself
“I think it is a big tick for the club, the coaching structure we have in place and the staff we have here that Tottenham believe this is the best place for Kion to continue his development. There was a lot of interest in Kion, some from clubs in higher leagues, and we are delighted that he is joining us.”
