MK Dons have confirmed the deadline day loan signing of Peter Kioso from Championship team Luton Town.

The 22-year-old Irish full-back has made a season long loan move from Kenilworth Road to stadium mk. In the process, Kioso returns to the club where he began his career, having been in the MK Dons academy before leaving in 2017.

After leaving Milton Keynes, Kioso had a successful spell in the National League with Hartlepool United before joining Luton in 2019. He has spent time on loan out from Luton within the EFL, appearing for Bolton Wanderers and Northampton Town across a pair of loan spells last season.

Kioso had made 4 appearances for Luton in the first few weeks of this season, but will instead now move to Milton Keynes to take part in the Dons’ League One campaign in a bid for more regular first team football.

He told the official MK Dons website of his delight to return to the club, and how a chat with Head Coach Liam Manning persuaded him on the merits of coming to Milton Keynes.

Kioso said, “I’ve always kept tabs on the Club and it feels like it was written in the stars for me to come back at some point.

“I remember watching games at Stadium MK as a youth team player and seeing the likes of Dele Alli and George Baldock. I can’t wait to come back and play on this great pitch and in front of the MK Dons supporters.

“I’ve had some good conversations with the Gaffer and he is one of the main reasons why I decided to come back to MK Dons. Once I spoke to him and I knew his plans for me and the team, it felt like the right thing to do.

“I am very excited to get going once again and I’m determined to work hard and do what I can to help the Club achieve something this season.”
