Brackley Town’s match in the FA Cup’s third qualifying round away against Hanley Town has been selected for live broadcast by the BBC.

The match on Saturday October 2nd will be broadcast on the BBC’s red button service, BBC Sport website and on BBC iPlayer. Kick-off will be at 12:30.

The tie is in the second-to-last qualifying round for the FA Cup, with the winner of this contest taking part in a final qualifying round on the weekend of October 16th before entering the First Round proper at the start of November.

The Saints have reached the FA Cup’s First Round proper on multiple occasions in recent seasons, including last season, where they beat Bishop’s Stortford on penalties in the First Round before losing to EFL side Tranmere Rovers. They booked their place in the 3rd qualifying round by beating Coalville Town 4-2 at St. James’ Park.

Opponents Hanley Town are located in the Stoke-on-Trent area and play in the Midland League Premier Division. The team, who are managed by former Stoke City defender Carl Dickinson, have won four qualifying ties to get this far.

Victories over Lye Town, Haughmond, Leicester Road – after a replay – and Chasetown saw the team reach this stage, having begun in an extra preliminary round back in early August.

The reigning holders of the FA Cup are Leicester City, who beat Chelsea 1-0 in last season’s final at Wembley Stadium.
