The winners of Brackley Town’s final FA Cup qualifier will play League One side AFC Wimbledon in the First Round of the competition proper.

Brackley were in the hat but the Saints could only draw 1-1 with fellow National League North side Guiseley at St James’ Park, with the two teams needing a replay to decide who will win out.

The replay is scheduled to be played on Tuesday October 19th at Guiseley’s Nethermoor Park ground in West Yorkshire.

During Saturday’s original tie at St James’ Park, Brackley had taken the lead through Lee Ndlovu. But an equaliser by Jake Hull saw Guiseley tie the game, with the two sides unable to find a winning goal.

This is the second round in a row where Brackley have been taken to a replay, after the Northamptonshire-based side were taken to replay by Hanley Town in the previous round.

The First Round proper will be held on the weekend surrounding Saturday November 6th, with specific dates to be announced in due course.

AFC Wimbledon are currently 17th in the League One table, having won 3 of their opening 12 matches in the new season in the third tier.

Brackley Town matched their best ever performance in last season’s FA Cup as they reached the second round of the competition. The Saints reached the full competition after navigating their qualifiers before defeating Bishop’s Stortford in the first round proper, only to suffer a narrow second round defeat to Tranmere Rovers.
